I read an excerpt of the Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky translation of Dostoevsky’s The Idiot and compared it to the Constance Garnett version and it’s so much better. I completely understand all of the criticisms of the Garnett translations now.
I might stop reading Anna Karenina because I have the Garnett translation and wait until I have a copy of the Pevear and Volokhonsky...

My biggest problem with turning 20 is that I always looked so much older than what my age was. I looked like I was in high school when I was in middle school, I looked like I was in college when I was in high school, and I look like I’m in my fucking 30s right now.
I just wish I looked like my age because looking older sucks

Socially awkward is an overused term and I feel like most people that claim the title aren’t actually that awkward because, at least to me, socially awkward implies a certain clumsiness that comes from not knowing norms and rules. There’s a film adaptation of Anna Karenina coming out this November and it feels like no one cares about it
Like there isn’t even a Wikipedia page about it. All references for it get redirected to the director’s page
And it isn’t a small film either. Keira Knightley is starring in it and Jude Law is in it and aren’t they rather well known actors?
This might be because I don’t watch Mad Men so I only know her through pictures, but Christina Hendricks’s voice freaks me out so much because it just doesn’t match her and I get apprehensive whenever I do hear it.

I think I’m going to revisit Neon Genesis Evangelion this summer because I only watched the original series so I never saw all the updates to the ending and what not.
